  • Lab Analyst - Optics

    This candidate will perform routine lab experiments involving optics in a corporate research lab. The research project testing is completed as part of a process group in high throughput laboratory.  


    • Operate and maintain a variety of laser and optical testing instruments
    • Work with optical alignment on optical bench using light sources (white light, lasers, LEDs) and imaging systems (cameras, photodiodes)
    • Sample collection, preparation, routine analysis, and interpretation results
    • Dispose of samples and chemicals
    • Plan, set up, and undertake controlled experiments and trials
    • Participate in preparation of reports, oral presentation of data and results, and proper documentation of experimental results in a technical notebook
    • Keep the laboratory clean and safe
    • Ensure lab operates safely and in compliance with GMPs
    • Order and maintain stock and resources


    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related science
    • 0-1 year of experience working in a laboratory
    • Basic knowledge of fundamental optics: interference, diffraction, and rays optics
    • Experience with Prototyping and assembling electronic & optical components
    • Exposure to circuit layout and mechanical design (Altium, Solidworks)
    • Experience with Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work independently & on teams and multitask
    • Ability to carry up to 20 pounds – may need to carry instruments or rolls up to 20 pounds
